Mr. Ramon S. Francisco

Ramon S. Francisco belongs to that fine breed of Filipino journalists who have been schooled and formed as responsible, principled and ethical practitioners of journalism, proud graduates all of the big little Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, now the Faculty of Arts and Letters, of the University of Santo Tomas.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Literature (Jounalism), summa cum laude, in 1967, Ramon Francisco has dedicated himself to only two endeavors: journalism and teaching. He was with the Evening

News, Manila Times and Manila Evening Post until these were suppressed during the Martial Law era, and since the EDSA Revolution with the Manila Bulletin of which he is now the Associate Editor. He teaches English, Journalism, Political Science and Contemporary World Geography at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of UST. Of his two loves, Ramon Francisco writes: "Teaching at a great nation-builder and writing for a centennial paper have motivated me all these years to inspire the youth to build for themselves a bright future which I hope they will cherish for a lifetime".
