Dr. Angeles is the President of Angeles University Foundation and First Vice President of the Association of Universities of Asia and Pacific. Under his leadership, Angeles University was chosen by the Asia Pacific Distance and Multi-Media Educational Network as the pilot site in the Philippines of its distance education program. He was a Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) Awardee in Social Education in 1971. He obtained his Master of Laws and Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from the University of Santo Tomas in 1968 and 1971 respectively.
Engr. James G. Velasquez earned his distinction in successfully fusing his Electronics and Communications Engineering skills with his management expertise, as current President and General Manager of IBM Philippines, Inc., the local branch of the multinational company with 100 years of operation in data processing, integrating information technology (IT), hardware, software, business consulting and other services into business solutions to meet industry goals.
Engr. Jose A. Sy, a Structural Engineer for 28 years, is the President/CEO of Aromin & Sy + Associates, Inc., one of the country’s leading structural engineering design firms. A visionary in his field, his structural design experience includes a wide variety of projects such as high rise structures, commercial buildings, condominiums, hotels, banks and industrial plant facilities.
Engr. Viera worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the first local President of all Texas Instruments sites worldwide. Immediately after earning his B.S. ECE degree, he worked as product engineer of the said company. Before he assumed the position of President and Managing Director, he was the Senior Engineering Supervisor and the Operations Manager.
Ms. Erlinda Uy Koe enjoys the unprecedented three-term mandate as National President of Autism Society Philippines (ASP), since 2004. This family support group is one of the most vibrant disability organizations in the country, leading almost 6,000 family, professional and institutional members with 36 chapters nationwide, in creating a better future for persons with autism spectrum disorder and their loved ones.
A fearless publisher, Eugenia "Eggie" Apostol blazed new trails in Philippine Journalism during the dark martial law years. She tested the waters and pushed the limits of press freedom vis a vis tyranical rule. She gave birth to the Philippine Daily Inquirer which later became the nation's leading newspaper. She also published the Mr. & Ms. Magazine which became the mother of all her publications.
Ms. Apostol finished her Bachelor of Literature in Journalism (magna cum laude) in the University of Santo Tomas.
Under his baton, the UST Singers conquered the world. Fidel Gener Calalang, Jr., conductor of the acclaimed Thomasian chorale and solo artist/composer, proves to be a man of precise musical ingenuity.
After graduating with the bachelor and licentiate degrees in Philosophy and Theology, all magna cum laude, from the Faculties of Philosophy and Sacred Theology of UST, Ft- Anscar Chupungco pursued post-graduate studies and obtained the doctorate in Litugical Studies at the Anselmianum in Rome.
FR. GREGORIO GARCIA, O.P. obtained the degree of Doctor of Sacred Theology from the Faculty of Sacred Theology of UST in 1941. Sent to the Dominican missions of Vietnam, he was professor of Theology at the Regional Seminary of Namdinh. Assigned later on to Philippines, Fr. Gregorio was Secretary of the Ecclesiastical Faculties of UST and professor of Theology at the Faculty of Sacred Theology. Among his students were numerous bishops and countless priests of the Philippine Church, who studied at UST.
FR. QUINTIN MA. GARCIA, O.P., obtained his doctorate degree in Theology (SThD) from the Faculty of Sacred Theology of UST in 1941. Shortly after, he was assigned to the China missions of the Dominican Province of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of the Philippines. He taught at the Regional Seminary of Fookien until his expulsion from China by the Communists.
